As we speak I am laid up in Labor and Delivery room 16 at Baptist East. The sound of Blakely's heartbeat and "Big Bang Theory" fills the room as we speak. Way cool and way surreal. Let me take a few steps back and tell you about my day.... As you all know I was very, very ANXIOUS to say the least. Friends filled my phone with encouraging texts and phone calls to help me get to my 1:30 appointment time today. Phillipians 4:6 " Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God." was ringing through my head, but the thought of our little man potentially being in my arms by Friday wouldn't escape my thoughts! Long story short, after a quick lunch with J, we headed to see Dr. Williams. To my surprise, I was 2 cms dilated at this appointment! Dr. Williams left the decision up to us to induce and OF COURSE, we said yes. My cervix is still not quite as thin as as needed to be for labor, so Dr. Williams asked if I could come in today at 4:30 so that we could begin the dose of cytotec to thin out my cervix. So here we are 3 hours later, hooked up to fluids in an IV and excited as ALL GET OUT!! Dr. Williams just came in with the first round of pills ( I will have two more, one at 9:00 pm and one at 1:00 am) and we actually fist bumped before he left the room. My doctor is not on call tonight, but informed me that if Blakely decides to come early ( which sometimes the pill causes women to go into early labor) , he will get over here as fast as possible ~ way cool.
But I like this one even better :)
I was worried they weren't going to let me wear my own gown, but they did !! I have gotten lots of compliments on it already :) Lookin' fab in Labor and Delivery!!
I just got my "push present" from Mr. T as well :) My bible that I have had since I was twelve, rebound with my new last name. It is so special to me, because I didn't want to lose all the notes and highlights in it from years past. . . . . I am thankful for such a thoughtful man in my life.....
Next time I post, there WILL BE baby pictures!!! EEK!! Can you believe it !!!
I tried to explain to George before we left, that we would be bringing him back a present.... he still seemed confused..... Gotta love the little guy!!
Keep up the prayers for a smooth and safe delivery!! WE love you guys!!
