- A great Pyrenees is a VERY strong, yet friendly dog........ Meet Big Mac.
As you can see him standing next to George..... This is one big dude. I mean Seriously.... His head was bigger than Jason's ( I tried to take a picture of their two heads, but B.M. is a licker)! I have never seen such a massive ball of love and he was obviously just as excited to see me for the first time, because when he did see me....
I'm telling you, he is strong! He knocked his head on the door and knocked the window pane out! That was an interesting call to make to my Uncle, since I had only been there .5 seconds!!!. And you know me.... I was panicking of course and somehow managed to break some cardboard and tape up the window! I was super proud of myself since I normally rely on my hubby for such matters. I am learning new things each day!
2. Dock Dogs
Jason managed to rally up the troups and we all went to Buck Masters in Montgomery. If you don't know what Buck Masters is, you probably a) don't live in the South, or b) own a gun. Me being the wife of a hunter, I apply to both. Awesome right :p Anyways, one really cool thing about this hunting expo is something called Dock Dogs. It was the most entertaining thing I have experienced in a while. Dock dogs are basically dogs that jump off a giant dock after a toy and then their jump is measured.

Some of the dogs meant business and went well over 20 feet! Well trained I'm sure, but my favorite dogs were the ones who just went around dock and walked straight down the ramp into the water for a nice swim. I would do the same if I were a dock dog. Forget jumping, let's just "wade" it out :)
3. 6 year olds make up their own rules.
I wish I could be 6 again. This is the second weekend this summer I have spent with a first grader, and boy let me tell ya.I remember those days. Days when you could trick your babysitter into thinking your mom let you have candy " whenever you wanted" or when you could convince whoever you were around that adding sugar to your coke was the norm ( Sam actually told us this at dinner) . My cousin Sam is all boy and his charming ways made it hard to say No. He was after all so very convincing !! My niece is the same way. She can make you feel like it really is "ok" to not make her wash her hair all weekend, or even make you think her Mom let's her put the cat in the bathtub :) Don't you wish for just one day you could go back to being six? Life is so simple and genuine. You see people for who they really are and love unconditionally. Yes, life was good at six, but I have to say.... It is even better at 24 ..........
Lilly, Jason,George and Sam
I am spending the week traveling for work training: First stop... Columbiana, Alabama. I am actually looking forward to staying in a cabin like this for 3 days :)
Makes me think of summers spent at Camp Briarwood. I spent so many of those Summers away from home soaking up God's goodness and being exciting about learning more about him . I think I am going to use this short time to do the same :) I am going to bring my book The Power of a Praying Wife, given to me by my sweet friend/mentor Lisa Williams. Her husband Randy is the preacher who married us on our wedding day and encouraged us to thrive in this book. Jason has one that partners mine and we talk all the time about how we should read it more often. It specifically focuses on ways we can strengthen one another and how we can specifically pray for each other's needs .... way cool.
After Jemison on Thursday then Prattville on Friday.... I am happy to say we will be spending an ENTIRE weekend in Elmore County. Bring on the at home relaxation! If I can stand it ;)
