September 2016

These things I want to remember...... But I never have time to write down.... Hey y'all, Carter here :) Just wanted to update a few things since it has been a hot minute! Barrett is 16 months now and Blakely turned FOUR in July. Reading through my old blog posts makes me so nostalgic, but I have already seen a few places where I need to eat my words. Like 1) I think we have decided to wait and send Blakely off to Kindergarten in 2018. I'd much rather him enjoy one extra year of pre-school and be the big dawg on campus as a fresh 6 year old. 2) I mentioned in a blogpost that Barrett would be our caboose. Now, I did post that 4 week post partum, and lets be honest, as sticky sweet as that post was, I am pretty sure I was pulling my hair out at both ends. Having a three year old that refused to poop in the potty and a newborn was so much fun... lol

With that being said, I am not pregnant or anything, however I am not closing that book just yet :)

Barrett: The kid is awesome. He growls at EVERYTHING. Opens his mouth to gasp whenever he sees an animal on tv ( it's hilarious ) and LOVES his big brother. He wakes up waddling down the hall yelling for BUBBA. He has four top teeth, four bottom teeth and two molars coming in. So far this year we have experienced the poop/throw up bug with both kids and that was super fun. Barrett likes to yell, "no-no" to both Jake and George and give kisses to anyone who tells him bye bye. Perfect strangers will accept those kisses if I let them ( trust me it was happened ). The boys moved to a new daycare in May and my mama heart is happy with the decision. But, the good Lord knows  I cried and cried when I had to leave some of those sweet folks at our old place. Barrett can tell me when he has a dirty diaper and will take it off if I am not fast enough at changing him. I learned that lesson the hard way when he was in a pack n' play at the beach..... He loves to sleep and goes to bed at 7:00 usually. He wakes up around 6:15 or 6:30. He eats whatever is in front of him, but loves anything with cheese and bread. A breadstick makes him smile. Which, I totally understand... bring on the carbs!

Blakely: full of spunk and attitude at times. He is very protective of his brother and his family. Blakely is learning to write his name and I'm so proud to watch him learn, even though he gets frustrated at himself from time to time. He is learning his bible verses in AWANA and is finally a cubbie bear! Those who don't know the running joke, when Blakely started pooping in his pants after Barrett was born, he got demoted back to a Puggle at Wednesday night church. My post partum hormones couldn't take it at the time....lol. Being a mom is all about learning new things. 10 years ago, I knew nothing about cubbies, puggles and bubble guppies.... I'm all in the know now! Blakely LOVES baseball and Auburn football, just like his daddy. Jason plans on taking him hunting this year, so lets hope he knows how to stay quiet! We did swimming lessons this year, but we are still taking each day at a time! He still sleeps with his lovie ( a giraffe ) and I just cannot make him part with it just yet! Barrett is also a lover of the lovies, but he sleeps with 3-4 at a time and is not as picky as to which animal it is!

Just an update, since I enjoy looking back on these memories :)
