It has almost been a year since my littlest one was born. It has truly flown by. I am so thankful for my two little people and the blessings they are in mine and Jason's life. Yes, some days are hard. I have a new appreciation for a hot bath, as they are few and far between. I wear lots of dry shampoo and I'm totally ok with that. I have discovered "snap-chat" (thanks to a super, hip and young intern that I now gladly call my friend) and use it as an outlet to show all the fun and laughs motherhood encompasses. This year has been a good one.
I was writing my bible study girls an email this morning after doing my devotional in "Beautiful Mess". The writer encourages you to look into ways to worship the Lord outside of the norm. Many people think of worship as just singing or reading the people, but truly worship can be reflected in so many ways. The Lord has done a lot of hard work in mine and my husband's hearts this year and I cannot help but get excited when I think about these things. I want to worship with my whole heart in everything that I do and I encourage you to do that as well. My daily walk with the Lord maybe different than yours, but I promise you... he loves us all the same. We are his children and to think that he loves me like I love my kids is more that I can fathom. I am so thankful for a good, good father like that. No pun intended on that last one... I just couldn't resist!
The next few months looks a little like this.... Easter, Our 6th Wedding anniversary, Jason is headed to the Masters!!, Barrett's FIRST birthday, my 30TH birthday... wait, pause on that. Yes. I am going to be 30. But from what I hear, 30 is the new 20, so lets move on....Blakely gets to wear a tux in his cousins wedding ( swoon ) in May, two big family beach trips and Blakely turns four in July!
Just to think that Blakely will be headed to Kindergarten next year! What in the world!! Blakely is a little spunky thing that thinks "yes mam" has three syllables because of how I correct him and emphasize mam. I need to work on that a little better.... he is in to dinosaurs, baseball and his little brother. Seriously, no one told me that a toddler is the best entertainment for a 11 month old. I can't do one without the other these days.
Barrett loves BALLS. that is about it. He says, mama, dada, buh buh and BALL. all day long.... He drinks 1/2 formula and 1/2 whole milk. Since my last update.... I weaned him at around 7 months and was done before he was 8 months old. Pumping at work and being that sole food supply with an older child was tough work. Barrett was much easier with a bottle once he got older and did not seem affected when his mom milk went away. He likes to eat pretty much any food that I have on my plate. I am putting away LOTS of baby stuff, as little B is becoming a toddler right before my own eyes. Not selling anything just yet, in hopes that a) one of my besties has a boy after me ( come ON already! ) or b ) what if we have just one more :p
I'm pretty sure if we have another baby, he/she/it will have to reside in the pool house or our giant mis-measured bathtub that we have in the master bedroom. Maybe I should reconsider this.
Squirrel moment: We took Easter pics this Saturday. Once again, no one warned me that two small children and live animals was not always a good idea. Blakely almost choked a baby chick while carrying it and Barrett violated the sweet bunny rabbit. I had a migraine and wearing a dress while chasing live stock was not the best idea I have ever had. On a positive note, I hope the pictures turn out cute! hahaha
Jason's business is booming and I am so thankful ! When I'm not at my "real job" from 8:00-4:30 I keep the books, do the invoicing and balance the checkbook for our Landscaping company. Now if only I could get my own yard landscaped....... isn't that how it always works ???
Jake and George keep each other busy. They keep the house lively to say the least!
Sorry I have neglected my blog for so many months! I will try to do better.... maybe :p
